PURA GROVE in Flower

PURA GROVE in Flower

“March came in that winter …bringing days that were crisp and golden and tingling.” ―  L.M. Montgomery

Flowering fruit trees create a beautiful segue into spring at PURA GROVE. As Ed Gonzales, our Property Manager, puts it, “Everything is green and there are flowers.”

We have so many fruit trees – like apple, fig, cherry, guava, and mango, to name a few.  They all produce flowers, and this adds to the farm’s natural beauty..

Right now, our mandarins are being harvested.  We have close to 2600 mandarin trees! These trees, which we added to the farm in 2022, just completed a 3-year organic certification process. We are proud to announce that our mandarins are officially certified organic by CCOF as of January 1st, 2025!

Wonder about the weather? This time of year, it’s still ‘California chilly” for most of the day. At night, it gets into the low 40s.

Even so, spring is just weeks away. “After the end of March,” Ed says, “it will start getting a lot warmer.”  Once the spring season is underway, the temperature in de Luz is usually in the 70s and 80s.

We consider San Diego County beautiful at every time of year.  At PURA GROVE, guests are welcome every season.  Come spend some time on the farm, enjoying nature’s blessings with us.
